As of October 16th, two 12,000-meter ultra-deep automated drilling rigs developed by China's independently-owned oil machinery manufacturing factory have successfully drilled deep wells. One rig, in the Deep Earth Tower 1 well, reached a depth of 7,856 meters, while the other, in the Deep Earth Chuanke 1 well, drilled to a depth of 2,800 meters, with excellent on-site performance. Meeting the demands of complex operating environments, the successful development of the 12,000-meter ultra-deep automated drilling rigs marks a significant milestone, placing China at the forefront of advanced equipment technology in the deep oil and gas drilling sector.
Chinese manufacturers continue to focus on domestic production of automation and upgraded drilling rigs, high-horsepower fracturing equipment, offshore equipment, and electric control and drive devices, contributing to the exploration and development of oil and gas resources. The introduction of a series of automated pipe drilling rigs has shown significant improvements in job site conditions, reduced labor intensity, and increased operational safety since their deployment. After three years of research and development, China's first set of "one-touch" human-machine interaction 7,000-meter automated drilling rigs, possessing independent intellectual property rights, represents a new generation of automated drilling rigs, moving from automated pipe drilling to fully automated drilling. This innovation has ushered China's oil and gas drilling into the era of "one-touch" operation. The two 12,000-meter ultra-deep automated drilling rigs strengthen key equipment parameters, enable fully automated pipe operations, achieve complete electric drive for core equipment, and use domestically produced core components, effectively enhancing the industry's ability to survive in extreme conditions and advancing China's technological self-sufficiency in the drilling equipment sector.
Chinese companies are accelerating the development of intelligent fracturing equipment, focusing on enhancing the automation level of data collection, transmission, alarm operations, maintenance, and repairs. They are also conducting further research on intelligent technology for fracturing equipment, with a focus on integrated intelligent fracturing equipment for the entire well site, centralized control software for intelligent fracturing units, and intelligent operation and maintenance management systems for the entire lifecycle of fracturing equipment, along with remotely controllable downhole fracturing tools and software.
In line with the overall deployment of "clean substitution, strategic replacement, and green transformation," China actively integrates into the new energy business development system, systematically investing in four major sectors: hydrogen energy technology equipment, energy storage technology equipment, new energy microgrids, and CCUS technology equipment. China's first set of 1,200 standard cubic meter alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production systems, independently developed by Chinese companies, has been successfully put into operation in the Tuhai Oilfield Industrial Park.
