Recently, COSL’s independently developed “Xuanji” system celebrated its first showcase on the African continent with the successful deployment of the second-generation rotary steerable system, “Welleader2.0,” in Uganda. This event signifies a new chapter for China’s sophisticated oil drilling technology as it makes headway into international markets.

As the quest for global petroleum resources intensifies and oil reservoir conditions grow increasingly complex, the efficacy and safety of rotary steerable drilling tools become ever more pivotal. Welleader2.0, with its substantial enhancements over its predecessor, has achieved a remarkable 40% reduction in power consumption and a 70% increase in maximum thrust. This breakthrough has garnered widespread attention and acclaim from experts both within China and abroad.

A collaborative effort among specialists from various divisions ensured the operation’s safe and efficient execution. To guarantee the instrument’s reliability, skilled engineers led maintenance teams through exhaustive inspections and tests. These included verifying Welleader2.0’s command execution across multiple modes and rigorously testing and monitoring every working parameter.

Moreover, the expert team from the Oilfield Technology Research Institute’s Orientation Institute worked in close conjunction with the workshop’s inspection and acceptance tasks, providing a robust assurance for Welleader2.0’s flawless performance.

Throughout the operation, Welleader2.0 maintained a stable status, with consistent and reliable geosteering signals, meeting all slope rate requirements, and achieving a 100% success rate in command transmission. The operation’s outstanding results have not only pleased customers but also significantly bolstered the “Xuanji” brand’s reputation and influence within the African region, laying a solid foundation for future endeavors in the Ugandan market.

With ongoing enhancements to the “Xuanji” product line, China’s premier oil drilling technology is poised to assume an increasingly influential role globally, offering more of China’s ingenuity and solutions to the world’s oil industry development.

The common specifications of plug valves are 1", 2", and 3", and the rated working pressures are 42MPa, 70MPa, 105MPa, and 140MPa (6000psi, 10000psi, 15000psi, 20000psi). The connection method at both ends can be a union connection or a union connection. Internal and external thread (LP, TBG) connection. Series products of various specifications are manufactured entirely in accordance with American standards and can be connected to similar foreign products at will. Repair kits can be interchanged with similar American SPM products and  SPM interchangeable Plug Valve.

Plug valves and repair kits for use in normal temperature, low temperature and acid (H2S) environments are available. The maintenance and upkeep of the valve body does not need to be removed from the pipeline, and no special tools are required for disassembly, which can be achieved online;
