QLS Wireline Knuckle Jar Kit

The QLS Wireline Knuckle Jar Kit is a specialized tool used in wireline operations within the oil and gas industry. This tool is designed to deliver a jarring force to downhole tools and equipment, helping to free stuck items and facilitate various well intervention tasks. Here’s a detailed explanation of its components, functions, and applications:

Components of the QLS Wireline Knuckle Jar Kit

1. Knuckle Joint:

A flexible joint that allows for angular movement and articulation of the tool string. This flexibility helps navigate through deviated or crooked wellbores, improving the tool string’s maneuverability.

2. Jarring Mechanism:

The core component of the kit, designed to deliver an impact or jarring force. This mechanism can be mechanical, hydraulic, or a combination of both, depending on the specific design of the QLS tool.

3. Slip Joint:

Allows for axial movement within the tool string, accommodating changes in length due to temperature variations or other downhole conditions. This helps maintain consistent contact and force application during jarring operations.

4. Fishing Tools:

Optional components that can be attached to the knuckle jar kit to retrieve stuck or lost equipment from the wellbore. These tools are designed to latch onto or engage with the equipment needing retrieval.

Functions and Applications of the QLS Wireline Knuckle Jar Kit

Jarring Force Application:

The primary function of the knuckle jar kit is to deliver a controlled jarring force to free stuck tools or equipment in the wellbore. This is achieved through the jarring mechanism, which can be activated by wireline operators from the surface.

Navigating Complex Wellbores:

The knuckle joint provides the necessary flexibility to navigate through complex wellbore trajectories. This is particularly useful in deviated, horizontal, or highly tortuous well paths where rigid tool strings might struggle.

Tool String Adjustment:

The slip joint component allows for adjustments in the length of the tool string, accommodating thermal expansion or contraction and ensuring consistent force application during jarring operations.

Fishing Operations:

The kit can be equipped with fishing tools to retrieve lost or stuck equipment. This makes the knuckle jar kit versatile, as it can both deliver jarring impacts and assist in fishing operations.

QLS Wireline Knuckle Jar Kit Advantages

1. Increased Flexibility:

The knuckle joint enhances the tool string’s ability to maneuver through challenging wellbore geometries, reducing the risk of getting stuck and improving operational efficiency.

2. Effective Jarring Action:

The jarring mechanism provides a powerful and controlled impact, increasing the likelihood of successfully freeing stuck tools or equipment. This can save significant time and costs associated with non-productive time (NPT).

3. Versatility:   The ability to attach various fishing tools makes the kit adaptable to a range of downhole conditions and challenges. This versatility reduces the need for multiple trips and tool changes.

4. Durability and Reliability:

QLS tools are designed to withstand harsh downhole environments, offering robust performance and reliability. This ensures that the knuckle jar kit can operate effectively under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.

The QLS Wireline Knuckle Jar Kit is a crucial tool in wireline operations, providing the necessary flexibility and jarring force to address stuck tools and equipment in complex wellbores. Its components, including the knuckle joint, jarring mechanism, and slip joint, work together to ensure efficient and effective well intervention. The kit's versatility and durability make it an indispensable asset in the oil and gas industry, optimizing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.

Wireline Spring Jar

Product Description

The spring jar is a specialized tool designed for upward jolting in heavy-duty fishing operations. Operating on the shift-flick principle, this tool ensures trouble-free performance with minimal maintenance requirements. Its components include an upper joint, jar cap, jar rod, jar cylinder, spring cylinder, clamp, connecting cylinder, force-adjusting rod, press sleeve, disc spring rod, and lower joint. When the jar is closed, the clasp secures the lower part of the jar rod. During lifting, the jar rod activates the claw, pulling the disc spring rod to compress the stored energy in the disc spring. As the jar rod travels, the jaw separates from the rod, instantly releasing the disc spring energy to achieve the jarring effect.

Technical parameter

 Outer Diameter: 1.875"

 Fishing neck: 1.750"

 Connection:1.875"QLS

 Jolt Force: 400-1200lbs

 Length:12.4″

Operational Approach

1. Connect the lower end of the spring jar to the tool requiring upward jolting. Lower the tool string to the predetermined position and stop lowering.

2. Gradually lift the tool string, adjusting the lifting force based on the pre-set jarring force. Maintain the lifting force at a consistent level.

3. Continue lifting the tool string at a steady speed until the wire suddenly loses tension, completing the jolt.

4. If the job isn't completed on the first attempt, lower the tool string to reset the spring jar (gripping the lower part of the jar rod) and repeat the jarring process.

Wireline Link Jar

Product description:

Wireline Tubular jars/Wireline Link Jar are used in conjunction with running tools and other equipment to allow the operator to transmit effective jarring force up and down. The effect of jarring depends to a large extent on the weight of the jar upper link and the jar stroke, as well as tubing size and verticality, tool size and depth, fluid density and viscosity, well pressure, and wire size. Has a positive or negative effect on the shock's effect.

Tubular jars are mostly used in oil pipes where cuttings or other possible foreign objects intrude. The jar is tubular in structure, with holes in the tube for fluid flow to allow easy movement of the plunger (jar rod).

Tubular jars are especially effective in large diameter tubing or casing, where chain jars will fail due to bending, while tubular jars are less prone to failure. some. Tubular jars with recommended displacement should be attached directly below the weighted rod.

Specification:

The technical parameters of displacement tube jars/Tubular Jar/Wireline Link Jar recommended for common specifications are as follows:
