China's Frst Ultra-Deep Well In The Bohai Sea Yields A high oil flow

Recently, it was disclosed by the Tianjin branch of China National Offshore Oil Corporation that Well D1 of the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field, the inaugural ultra-deep well in the Bohai Sea of China, achieved a high production oil flow with an oil equivalent exceeding 1,000 cubic meters per day, signifying a crucial advancement in the exploration and development of large-scale oil and gas resources in the ultra-deep area Drilling Fluidof the Bohai Sea in China.

Tianjin North Network News: Recently, it was learned from the Tianjin branch of CNOOC that China's first ultra-deep well in the Bohai Sea - Well D1 of the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field, obtained a high production oil flow, with an oil equivalent of more than 1,000 cubic meters per day, marking that China's exploration and development of large-scale oil and gas resources in the ultra-deep field of the Bohai Sea has made key progress.

Well D1 is situated in the Bozhong 19-6 gas field, the first large and integrated 100-billion-cubic-meter gas field in eastern China, with a depth of 6,088 meters, which is the first ultra-deep well in the Bohai Sea. The well has a formation temperature exceeding 180 °C, a maximum bottomhole pressure of 56 MPa, and a daily oil and gas equivalent of approximately 1,044 cubic meters, equivalent to ten times the production of conventional oil and gas production wells offshore. According to the senior engineer of development geology at the Bohai Petroleum Research Institute of CNOOC, the reservoir of Well D1 possesses the geological characteristics of "mountain beneath the mountain, double-layer mountain", and oil and gas are stored in fractures merely 0.01 to 0.1 mm wide. Compared with the previous production wells of the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field, the reservoir is buried deeper, the reservoir thickness is thinner, the fracture opening is smaller, and the fracture prediction and well location deployment are more challenging. It is like extracting oil and gas from a hair.

Facing drilling and production issues, the oilfield personnel innovatively proposed the three-control advantageous reservoir pattern law and prediction method of "folding, fracture and filling", independently developed high-temperature and high-lubrication drilling fluid, and successfully addressed the technical problems of high underground temperature, complex pressure system in the well, and the propensity for downhole tools to fail, providing solutions for the development of deep oil and gas reservoirs.

The deputy general manager of CNOOC Tianjin Branch stated, "The breakthrough in Well D1 of the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field further validates the abundant potential of offshore deep buried hill oil and gas resources, which holds significant importance in accelerating the exploration and development process of large-scale oil and gas resources in deep fields in China and enhancing the guarantee level of high-quality green and clean energy."

It is understood that the Bozhong 19-6 gas field is the first large, integrated 100-billion-cubic-meter gas field in eastern China, with an average water depth of approximately 20 meters, and has verified geological reserves of over 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas and more than 200 million cubic meters of oil, which can serve millions of large urban populations for hundreds of years after being fully operational.
